Ganymede:The largest moon of the entire Solar System

Image
Ganymede, one of the largest moons of Jupiter, is the largest moon in the entire Solar System. Spacecraft images show that its surface is a mix of two types of terrain: 40% of the surface is covered by highly cratered dark regions, and the remaining 60% is covered by light-grooved terrain.   Image of the dark side of  Ganymede. This ocean is estimated to be 60 miles (100 kilometers) thick, which is 10 times deeper than Earth's ocean. It is believed to be located beneath a 95-mile (150-kilometer) thick crust of mostly ice. Additionally, several mineral salts and organic compounds have been found on the surface. Possibility of an Oxygen Atmosphere Scientists also share the possibility of having a thin layer of oxygen on its surface. Daytime sur...
